To concentrate on something and that is important instead of other things.

To look after someone or something.
"Don't worry. I'll take care of the project."
To find a solution to a problem.
"It took a long time for me to sort out these files."
to speak to people in other organisations in order to exchange information with them.
"Our sales team liaise with the suppliers to ensure speedy delivery."
to put money, effort, time etc. into something to make a profit or get an advantage.
"We are willing to invest $10million in this project."
To give up a job or position by telling your employer that you are leaving.
"She resigned from the company because she found a better paying job."
