Hi guys,
You might have heard people talking about Twitter. But what is it? Twitter is a free social networking service that lets its users send and read other users' updates, using just 140 characters (that includes all letters, numbers, punctuation and spaces) known as tweets. When you sign up for a twitter account, you can post short messages saying what you're doing at that moment. Other people can go to your page and read what you have written, and you can read other peoples posts too.
Remember you can only use 140 characters – not words - and so you need to...
you have say what you want to say in as few words as possible. It'll teach you how to think about what you want to say.
You have to choose words that are descriptive and convey your message clearly. You don't have the space to write much, so you need to choose one word that will do the job of five. It's a great way to review vocabulary and it'll make you want to research new ones. Go on, put your vocab to the test.
Thinking in English, instead of translating, is the best way to your improve fluency. You'll cut down on your 'thinking time' as you start making regular posts in English.
Not only is tweeting fun, it's a fun way to mix with other English speakers, be a part of an English speaking community and learn about the culture and views of native English speakers.
