Costa Verde Shared Apartments are located just minutes from La Jolla Village Square and the University Towne Centre (UTC) shopping mall. Downtown San Diego is a 20-minute drive or 35-40 minutes by public transportation. Supermarkets are within a 10-minute walk, along with various conveniences like Starbucks, McDonald’s, Subway, currency exchange services, banks, and department stores.

Note: Costa Verde Shared Apartments require a minimum booking of 4 weeks.

Your Accommodation

Costa Verde Shared Apartments consist of six complexes with over 1,200 apartments. Students can choose between single or twin rooms. Each apartment includes a living room, bedroom, fully equipped kitchen (with a refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and sink), and a bathroom. Each bedroom is furnished with a bed, bedside table, lamp, and closet.

The apartments have a sharing ratio of one bathroom for every two students. Bed linens and towels are provided, though students must bring their own beach towels. Each apartment has a washer and dryer available for free use. Students can make free local phone calls, but for international calls, they will need to purchase a phone card to unblock the phone. Full apartment cleaning is provided bi-weekly.

Arrival procedures

Please send flight details or an estimated arrival time when booking accommodation or as soon as possible once you know it. On arrival, come to the main reception, and the residence staff will give you your card and show you to your room. On departure, please leave your room tidy and return your keys at reception in the lobby.

Airport pickup

If you have booked accommodation with EC you must arrive at the airport between 08:00 and 20:00.
Late/early arrivals may be asked to book alternative accommodation. Your driver will be waiting for you at Arrivals holding a sign with your name. If after 10 minutes you cannot see your driver, please contact our emergency number +44 (0) 7983 773 121. If your flight is missed, delayed, or cancelled, or if there is any other problem, you should notify EC by calling +44 (0) 7983 773 121 to rearrange your transfer time and avoid additional cost.

House Rules

Students must be 18+ to choose this accommodation.
Single gender apartments.
Deposit is not required.
Single room residents are welcome to have guests in their room up to 3 days in any consecutive 30-day period and assume responsibility for all actions and behaviour of their guests. Shared room residents are not allowed to have guests in their room.
Smoking is not permitted.
Due to health and safety regulations, bedroom doors in shared accommodation do not have locks.
Students are asked to carry travel insurance which has a personal liability coverage for any damages they may cause.
While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee a language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate and be respectful and inclusive of others.
EC provides a clean-living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag
Students are required to follow the EC Student Code of Conduct; failure to do so can result in termination of the accommodation.

Cancellations

Cancellation prior to arrival

Students cancelling or postponing their accommodation 14 days or less before their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee.

Cancellation after arrival

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing four weeks before termination. If the 4-week notice period is not provided, a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of accommodation costs will apply.  After deducting the accommodation price used at the rate quoted in the price list, including the required notice period charged at the same rate, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs.

Yes, if you’re studying at EC San Diego with a friend, you may be able to share a room in select residences or homestays. Contact us to learn more.

If I choose a shared-bedroom for my student accommodation in San Diego, who will I be sharing with?

You will be sharing your room with another EC student of the same gender. When students are sharing rooms, we try our best to place students together from different countries or languages, although this is not always guaranteed.
