Your Accommodation

The Ledbury offers modern apartments along with a world of resort-style amenities including a rooftop pool, designer cabanas and lounges, a cutting-edge ski and snowboard
simulator, state-of-the-art gym, yoga sanctuary and professional Raptors basketball court. Walk through The Mews, a pedestrian shopping arcade with cobblestone streets, curated art and lush green spaces offering a serene retreat nestled in the middle of the city.

Single economy (7ft 5in-12ft 9in- 2.2m 3.8m) or single standard (9ft-9ft 8in- 2.7m-2.9m) with en-suite or shared bathroom (bathroom share ratio: 3:1)

Laundry

There are a washer and dryer unit in each room at no cost. Student just needs to provide their own washing liquid. Free general cleaning provided once per month per unit.

Arrival procedures

Students will check-in and check out at the front desk. All students must have an ID. Students will pick up and drop off keycards at the front desk. All arrivals and departures must be communicated at least 48h in advance.

Airport pickup

Please arrive at the airport between 05:00 am and 23:00 pm. Late/early arrivals may be asked to book alternative accommodation. To book an airport transfer, please provide your flight number, arrival time, terminal and airport of origin – minimum 2 weeks in advance.  

At the airport, you will meet an EC transportation representative holding an EC sign outside the arrivals gate.

If after 10 minutes you cannot see the EC representative, just call 416 209 8331 (from the information desk or a mobile phone).

Useful phrase to use:

Hi, my name is [your name]. I am from [your home country]. My student number is [###]. I cannot find my EC representative. I am at the information desk.

If you miss your flight or if it is delayed, notify EC by calling 416 209 8331 (from the information desk or a mobile phone) to rearrange your transfer time and avoid additional cost.

Useful phrase to use: My name is [your name] I am from [your home country] My student number is [###] and my flight has been changed. My new flight number is [###] arriving at [time].

Arrival day: Saturday (Sunday arrival is possible)
Check-in: You can check in at 3pm, but if the room is ready early you will be allowed to check in earlier. If the room is not ready and you come before 3pm, your luggage can be kept at the residence, and you can wait in the lounge room. Late check-in is allowed.  


Departure day: Saturday  

Check-out: 11:00 am.  

Late check-out is not possible.

House Rules

  • Students must be 18 + to choose this residence 
  • Mixed Gender: Male and female students share common areas and facilities. 
  • Students are required to reserve many common areas and facilities. 
  • Guests are allowed until 10:00PM, but no overnight guests 
  • Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the residence
  • Due to health and safety regulations, bedroom doors in shared accommodation do not have locks 
  • Students arriving in EC accommodation between 22.00 – 08.00 may be asked to book alternative accommodation for their first night. This is to ensure students’ safety on arrival. 
  • While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee a language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate and be respectful and inclusive of others.  

Resident belongings 

  • EC provides a clean living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag.
  • Students are required to follow EC Student Code of Conduct, failure to do so can result in termination of the accommodation.

Cancellations

Cancellation prior to arrival

Students cancelling or postponing 14 days or less prior to their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee. 

Cancellation after arrival

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing 4 weeks prior to termination. After deducting the price of accommodation used, including the required notice period, charged at standard accommodation rates, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs. If the 4-week notice period is not provided a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of the accommodation cost will apply.

Can I keep staying at my student accommodation in Toronto after my EC English course?

The accommodation is only available for the duration of the course. Accommodation is usually booked from Saturday to Saturday. 

For my homestay student accommodation in Toronto, how do you assign the host family?

This is based on availability and any specific requirements you might have. Please make sure that all your requests are expressed at the time of the booking.  

Which type of student accommodation in Toronto should I choose? 

Choosing a Toronto accommodation type depends on your lifestyle preferences. If you want to practice your English with a local Toronto family over homecooked meals, you should consider a homestay. If you want more independence and connection with other students, a shared apartment may be the perfect choice.
