How often do I take level tests, when taking an online English course?

Assessments are completely personalised and you are tested on teacher recommendation based on your participation in class and on collaborative tasks.

When is the latest I can book an online English course to start the following Monday?

We must receive all bookings with payment by the Wednesday before the course start date (on Monday). This allows time for you to complete the placement test and receive the welcome information before you start.

Are one-to-one lessons also available?

Yes! We also offer private online one-to-one English courses. Each lesson is 60 minutes. It is possible to bundle these for a discounted price. Please contact us at info@ecenglishlive.com for more information.

Will I get a certificate at the end of my online English course?

Yes, once your online English course is finished, you will receive an e-certificate. A hard copy can be provided for a small charge.

Will there be any assessment on my online English course?

Yes, we have assessments built into all our courses. These assessment processes are designed to help our students maximise their progress.

Is there a placement test for online English courses?

Yes, we will ask you to complete your placement test through MyEC a few days before your start date, and we will assign you to the according level depending on your results.

What if I fail to attend because of technical issues, e.g., internet connection and such?

You can contact student support at info@ecenglishlive.com who will give you an overview of that lesson so you can self-study.

Will I have technical assistance while trying to access classes, etc?

If you require any assistance, you will be able to email us directly at info@ecenglishlive.com which is monitored around the clock.

How do you group students together for online English courses?

We will ask you to complete your placement test through MyEC a few days before your starting date, and we will assign you to the according level depending on your results.

Which kind of certification do the EC Live teachers have?

All our online English course teachers meet the qualification requirements of the British Council accreditation.

How many students are in each online English course lesson?

Lessons have a maximum of 10 students per class.

How are EC online English courses organised?

Pre-lesson task – (15 minutes)

Helps you come to the classroom feeling confident and ready to speak about the lesson topic.

Online Session (90 minutes)

The teacher tells you the objectives and goals for that lesson, you will study with your partners to learn grammar, vocabulary, and skills. The post-class collaborative activity will be set up so that you will practice using today’s language in real-life context.

Post-lesson task (30 minutes)

After the online lesson the teacher will give you a speaking task to do with your partners.

This task will help you to practise what you have learnt. You will also think about how you can use your new language and skills in your life outside the classroom.

Can I extend my online English course week by week?

Yes, you can, but your course will stop week by week as well and you will break the flow of your learning experience. We highly recommend booking a minimum of 4 weeks at a time.

What is the minimum age to take an online English course with EC Live?

The minimum age to attend our online courses is 16.

How will my online English courses be delivered?

When you learn English online with EC, lessons will be delivered through Zoom. Zoom has everything teachers need to create engaging learning environments, from content and assignments to collaborative classrooms and chats. You will find your Zoom lesson links in your MyEC calendar once you register your MyEC account. You will receive information on how to create your MyEC account after you book your course.
