What kind of support can I expect when taking EC English courses?

You will receive maximum support. A team of at least two teachers will support you throughout your time learning English with EC. Every step of the way, your teachers will focus on your personal learning experience—monitoring your needs, providing regular feedback and weekly assessments, and giving you the resources you need to make progress.

Do you only offer English courses?

Our schools are in English-speaking countries, so our main focus is on English. However, we also offer French classes at EC Montreal. Learn more at EC French

At the end of my EC English course, will I get a certificate?

Yes, at the end of each course you will be given a certificate of participation, which states the dates you attended your course, the name of your course and the language level achieved. It is recognized by the accreditation on this link. You do need to attend a minimum of 80% of your course to be eligible for your certificate. Intensive Academic Year students are awarded with an EC diploma t the end of their course, and Semi-Intensive or General Academic Year students receive and EC Certificate of Merit. You may also take and exit test on MYEC. This test is certified by OxfordEnglishTesting.com and is accredited by the British Council.

How do I know which EC English courses are right for my level?

Our General English courses are suitable for all levels, while the courses below require students to be of other minimum levels:

English for Work: Pre-Intermediate level

IELTS / TOEFL / TOEIC / Cambridge: Intermediate and above

All students take a level test on the first day of class or before arrival through our MyEC, after which they are placed in the class most appropriate to their level.

How are EC English courses developed?

We have a dedicated Academic Development team made up of industry professionals including published authors and an educational technologists. Research-based and data-driven, our courses reflect the latest educational trends and methods to ensure you have the most effective learning experience.
