Set on England’s south coast, Brighton combines beachside relaxation with culture, history and creativity. From the famous Brighton Palace Pier and the city’s historic Royal Pavilion to its independent shops, waterfront cafés and lively cultural scene, there is always something new to experience. EC Brighton is centrally located near the seafront, placing many of the city’s best-known sights within easy reach.

EC Escapes Brighton blends General English lessons with a carefully planned programme of cultural activities, local experiences and excursions. Enjoy the pleasure of learning English in the classroom, then use it naturally as you explore the city, share meals and conversations, and discover the attractions of Brighton and the surrounding South East of England. Our dedicated teachers create a comfortable and engaging learning environment, understanding that your primary goal is to communicate effectively on your language vacation. Cultural activities

At EC Escapes, we believe that learning English should be as enjoyable as it is educational. That is why we offer an exciting mix of activities to ensure you have plenty of exciting opportunities to use your English in your host city. Your dedicated activities programme will be tailored to your destination and will include scenic guided tours, cultural experiences, trips to landmark historical sites, dining and social events, leisurely walks and more.

Concierge service

We understand that every traveller has unique needs. So, at each school, we provide you with a dedicated concierge. They are available to ensure your journey with us is smooth, memorable and tailored to your specific needs. The EC Escapes dedicated concierge can help you book experiences and tickets for events outside of the programme, and will be on hand during lessons and excursions to guide you and answer any questions you may have.

Escapes Brighton activities overview

*Please note, all activities are subject to change without notice and may be offered seasonally. Afternoon Weekday activity meeting times are at the school reception. Full day weekend tours will have detailed times and pick up points on the tickets.
Weekend activity only available for every 2 week bookings.
Recommended programme duration is 2 weeks; thereafter, the schedule repeats.

Students must advise of any special requirements at the time of booking (including dietary requirements, medical conditions, religious considerations, or mobility issues). EC cannot guarantee accommodation of such requirements if they are not communicated in advance.

Royal Pavilion Tour

Take a guided tour of the Royal Pavilion and go inside one of Brighton’s most unusual buildings. The building, which was constructed as a royal seaside retreat, combines Indian and Chinese design in its domes and interiors in a way that cannot be seen anywhere else in England. The visit offers a good opportunity to practise your English as you learn about British history and Brighton’s past as a fashionable resort. Because the pace is relaxed, it is perfect for language learners who would like to experience culture without having to rush.

Live Entertainment

Brighton is famous for its theatre, comedy, and live music, and this activity lets you try them for yourself. You could watch a stand-up comedy act, see a dance performance, or enjoy some live music, all while picking up real English in a cheerful atmosphere. It’s a pleasant way to learn new words and expressions while you’re out for the evening. With this easy-going activity, you can practise your English while taking part in one of the city’s most popular forms of entertainment.

Afternoon Tea at the Grand Hotel

You can have a traditional British afternoon tea at the Grand Hotel, which is a well-known place by the sea in Brighton. It’s an excellent opportunity to relax, talk with your classmates, and practice everyday English among a friendly group. While you are eating the sandwiches, scones and tea, you’ll pick up some useful expressions and become familiar with British customs. This peaceful and comfortable activity provides a pleasant way to conclude a day spent sightseeing or studying.
