Located in the scenic tree-filled Pacific Heights, the friendly Kenmore Aparthotel is only minutes away from the unbeatable views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, and Alcatraz.

The Kenmore Aparthotel is steps away from the bus stop and two blocks away from the cable car line, which passes through Chinatown on the pleasant ten-minute trip to the downtown business and shopping districts.  

It’s also a shopping mecca: Here, you’ll discover everything from luxury brands to indie boutiques and vintage finds. Take home a new treasure!

Your Accommodation

A classic Victorian building reflecting San Francisco’s distinctive style from the 1880s, Kenmore House has been updated with modern comforts, security systems, and convenient amenities for students and guests. 

Students must follow EC San Francisco’s 10pm curfew policy. The curfew policy is enforced with evening checks. 

Cleaning and Laundry  

Bed linens are changed twice weekly, with daily dusting, sweeping, and trash removal. Common areas are cleaned daily.

Coin-operated machines are available, with a washing cost of $2.25 and drying at 25 cents per 10 minutes. Guests are responsible for their own detergent. 

Meal Description

Half board (breakfast and dinner). A typical breakfast consists of hot eggs, fruit, toast, cereal, coffee/tea available Monday – Saturday. Continental breakfast and brunch served on Sundays. Full dinner provided Monday – Saturday, menu changes daily. Food is being served in dining room each day for tenants.

Room Furnishings

Each room includes a desk, lamps, dressers, closets, WiFi, and television. Utility bills are included.

Kenmore House offers three types of rooms:

  • Twin Room (Shared Hall Bath): Available for students aged 16-17 booking together, while students 18+ can book individually. 
  • Single Private Studio (Shared Bathroom): For those seeking more privacy. 
  • Private Room (Private Bathroom): Full privacy and bathroom access.

Arrival procedures

For students under 18 arriving or departing between 8:00 pm and 8:00 am, return airport transfers are mandatory. 

Airport pickup

To book an airport transfer, provide your flight number, arrival time, terminal, and airport of origin at least two weeks in advance. 

After you collect your luggage, an EC transportation representative will be waiting for you at the curb. Please call +1 415-350-9944 as soon as you’re ready to be picked up. 

If you cannot locate the driver within 10 minutes, call the driver directly at +1 415-350-9944. Only call the EC emergency line if you cannot reach the driver. (Suggested phrase: “Hi, my name is [Your Name]. I am from [Country]. I am near exit A/B/C.”) 

Other ways to get to your residence 

Taxi, BART to 16th street then bus 49 to Van Ness Ave and Sutter Ave.  

If Your Flight is Delayed or Missed

If your flight is delayed or you miss it, call EC at +1 424-428-8866 from your mobile or the airport information desk. This will help rearrange your transfer and avoid additional costs. (Suggested phrase: “My name is [Your Name]. I am from [Country]. My flight has been changed. My new flight number is [Flight Number] arriving at [Time].”) 

If You Haven’t Booked an EC Transfer

You may take a taxi, shared door-to-door shuttle, or use the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) from SFO airport, which is the most economical option for getting to downtown San Francisco. For details, visit www.bart.gov

Note: International arrivals should plan for a 90-minute wait, and domestic arrivals should allow 30 minutes after landing for luggage retrieval.

Guests can check in at 12:00pm but if the room is ready early the guests are allowed to check in earlier.  If the room is not ready and the guests come before 12:00pm, they can leave their luggage at the residence and wait in the lounge room. 

There will be no EC Staff on site but The Kenmore residence staff will assist during check in.

House Rules

  • Students must be 16+ to choose this accommodation. 
  • Mixed gender. Male and female students share common areas and facilities, but bedrooms are single gender. 
  • No deposit required. 
  • For 18+ students. overnight guests are allowed for single rooms for 3 nights max. Authorization Form needs to be filled in. 
  • Smoking is not permitted 
  • Minimum stay: 2 weeks  

While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee a language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate and be respectful and inclusive of others.

EC provides a clean-living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag 

Students are required to follow the EC Student Code of Conduct; failure to do so can result in termination of the accommodation.  

Cancellations

Cancellation prior to arrival

Students cancelling or postponing their accommodation 14 days or less before their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee. 

Cancellation after arrival

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing four weeks before termination. If the 4-week notice period is not provided, a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of accommodation costs will apply.  After deducting the accommodation price used at the rate quoted in the price list, including the required notice period charged at the same rate, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs.

At EC, can I book my student accommodation in San Francisco with friends? 

Yes, if you’re studying at EC San Francisco with a friend, you may be able to share a room in select residences or homestays. Contact us to learn more.

If I choose a shared-bedroom for my student accommodation in San Francisco, who will I be sharing with?

You will be sharing your room with another EC student of the same gender. When students are sharing rooms, we try our best to place students together from different countries or languages, although this is not always guaranteed.

For my homestay student accommodation in San Francisco, how do you assign the host family? 

This is based on availability and any special requirements you might have. Please make sure that all your requests are expressed at the time of the booking.
