Your Accommodation

The accommodation offers two types of rooms: single rooms in a shared apartment and a private studio.  

Each of our single rooms comes with a small double bed, loads of storage & workspace and your own ensuite shower room. Rooms are 15 m2 (about half the area of a parking space) of floor space. Plus, you and your 3 – 7 housemates will have access to the shared kitchen and living room, fitted with a TV.  

Our studios come with a small double bed, a lot of workspace and storage, an ensuite shower room, and your own mini kitchen. Cleaning service is available on demand. £25 for a single room or £30 for a studio. Bed linen cleaning can be booked for £6.60, paid directly to the residence. Kitchens and corridors are cleaned weekly. Studios are cleaned monthly.

Students can call the out-of-hours emergency line for security assistance whenever the resident team is not in the office.   

There are also 2 patrols per night (11pm and 3am).   

Static security is on site Friday and Saturday nights from 11pm till 6am.

Common Areas

Communal areas of the residence, include a dining room, games room, garden, meeting room, multimedia room, lounge, and a picnic area.

Kitchen utensils are provided (pots, pans, fridge, cooktop, kettle, cooking utensils).  

Laundry

There are 4 coin-operated washing machines and 3 dryers available at a cost of £3.60 per wash and £2.10 per dryer. The students need to buy their cleaning materials.  

Luggage drop-off service not available.  

Arrival procedures

Please send flight details or an estimated arrival time when booking accommodation or as soon as possible once you know it. On arrival, come to the main reception, and the residence staff will give you your card and show you to your room. On departure, please leave your room tidy and return your keys at reception in the lobby. 

Airport pickup

If you have booked accommodation with EC you must arrive at the airport between 08:00 and 20:00. 
Late/early arrivals may be asked to book alternative accommodation. Your driver will be waiting for you at Arrivals holding a sign with your name. If after 10 minutes you cannot see your driver, please contact our emergency number +44 (0) 7983 773 121. If your flight is missed, delayed, or cancelled, or if there is any other problem, you should notify EC by calling +44 (0) 7983 773 121 to rearrange your transfer time and avoid additional cost.

House Rules

  • Students must be 18 + to choose this residence  
  • Mixed Gender: Male and female students share common areas and facilities, but bedrooms are single gender.  
  • Overnight guest allowed 5 days max. Need to sign a sign -in form.  
  • Smoking is not permitted anywhere in the residence.  
  • While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate, be respectful and inclusive of others  
  • EC provides a clean living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag  
  • Students are required to follow EC Student Code of Conduct, failure to do so can result in termination of the accommodation.

Cancellations

Cancellation prior to arrival

Students cancelling or postponing 14 days or less prior to their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee. 

Cancellation after arrival

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing 4 weeks prior to termination. If the 4-week notice period is not provided a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of the accommodation cost will apply. After deducting the price of accommodation used at the rate quoted in the price list, including the required notice period charged at the same rate, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs.

Will I have my own room in Brighton? 

Yes, you can book a single room in our student residences and homestays. Private rooms are in high demand, so it’s best to book as soon as possible. 

How long can I book my accommodation for?   

Your accommodation stay should match the length of your English course at EC. Arrival and departure dates usually follow a Saturday-to-Saturday schedule. Classes start on Mondays and end on Fridays. 

Can I book my Brighton accommodation with a friend?   

Yes, friends travelling to Brighton can request a shared room in certain residences or homestays. Make sure to book early, as shared rooms are popular. 

How close is the accommodation to the EC Brighton school? 

Our student residences and homestays are from a 15-minute walk to a sixty-minute journey by public transport from school. Please contact us for specific information on our student accommodation.
