Your Accommodation

The property has undergone a comprehensive refurbishment and offers modern amenities, including game and cinema rooms, study spaces, and newly renovated rooms. Each room features a small double bed with under-bed storage, a study area with USB charging points, and a shared kitchen and living area with sofas and a TV. There are seven washing machines and nine dryers (£3.30 per wash and £1.90 per drying cycle). A concierge is on-site from Monday to Friday.

Arrival procedures

Please send flight details or an estimated arrival time when booking accommodation or as soon as possible once you know it. On arrival, come to the main reception, and the residence staff will give you your card and show you to your room. On departure, please leave your room tidy and return your keys at reception in the lobby. 

Airport pickup

If you have booked accommodation with EC you must arrive at the airport between 08:00 and 20:00. 
Late/early arrivals may be asked to book alternative accommodation. Your driver will be waiting for you at Arrivals holding a sign with your name. If after 10 minutes you cannot see your driver, please contact our emergency number +44 (0) 7983 773 121. If your flight is missed, delayed, or cancelled, or if there is any other problem, you should notify EC by calling +44 (0) 7983 773 121 to rearrange your transfer time and avoid additional cost. 

Other ways to get to your residence

From London Heathrow (1 hour 15 minutes) 

From Heathrow in London, take the Piccadilly Line to Kings Cross and change to the Northern Line on Old Street. 

From London Gatwick (50 minutes) 
Take the London Thameslink train line to London Bridge. At London Bridge, change to the northern line to Old Street. 

From London Stansted (1 hour 10 minutes
From Stanstead, take the Stanstead Express to Tottenham Hale. Change to the Victoria Line to Kings Cross. At Kings Cross, change to the Northern Line to Old Street.

House Rules

  • Students need to be 18 + to choose this accommodation 
  • Mixed Gender: Male and female students share common areas and facilities, but bedrooms are single-gender. 
  • Students are not required to pay a damage deposit 
  • Students arriving in EC accommodation between 22.00 and 08.00 may be asked to book alternative accommodation for their first night. This is to ensure the students’ safety on arrival. 
  • Smoking is not permitted in the accommodation 
  • Each student is allowed to have 3 visitors at a time. Visitors can stay until any time but must respect our quiet hours policy (Weekdays are 10 pm to 7 am, and weekends are 11 pm to 6 am). Students must sign their visitor(s) in at reception. Residents can also have one visitor stay overnight for a maximum of 3 days. 

While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee a language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate and be respectful and inclusive of others. 

Resident belongings:  
Once your tenancy has ended, iQ is not liable for items left behind by residents. You must take all your belongings with you when you move out. We are unable to forward any left items. 

EC provides a clean-living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag 

Students are required to follow the EC Student Code of Conduct; failure to do so can result in termination of the accommodation.  

Cancellations

Cancellation prior to arrival

Students cancelling or postponing their accommodation 14 days or less before their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee. 

Cancellation after arrival

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing four weeks before termination. If the 4-week notice period is not provided, a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of accommodation costs will apply.  After deducting the accommodation price used at the rate quoted in the price list, including the required notice period charged at the same rate, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs.

Should I choose a student residence or a homestay for my London accommodation?

A student residence is the right choice if you would like maximum flexibility and independence, since you will be managing your own schedule and living arrangements. Student Residences also provide lots of opportunities to socialize with other students. A homestay (living with a local family)  may be the right choice if you are looking for a more immersive cultural experience and more opportunities to practice English.
