GEC Pearson residence includes 2 six-floor buildings located on the southside of Vancouver. The residence is less than a 10-minute walk from the Marine Drive Skytrain Station that connects with Downtown Vancouver in less than 20 minutes.

Your Accommodation

All rooms have access to a living space and a well-stocked kitchen. GEC Pearson also includes in-suite laundry, gym, outdoor common space, and underground parking (extra cost might apply), as well as controlled access and 24/7 video surveillance of all entrances and public areas.

The luggage drop off can be arranged upon arrival with the security guard directly.
Utility bills are included.

Airport pickup

If you booked an airport transfer, someone will meet you at the airport and bring you to your residence.
If you are at International arrivals, you will meet an EC Transfer Representative after you walk through 2 sets of automatic doors. They will be wearing a yellow t-shirt and holding a yellow sign with the EC logo on it and standing across from the wooden statues.
If you are at Domestic Arrivals, collect your bag from the baggage carousel and wait in that area. You will see an EC Transfer Representative wearing a yellow t-shirt and holding a yellow sign with the EC logo on it.
If after 10 minutes you cannot see the EC representative, just call +1 604.988.7639 or text/WhatsApp +1.778.773.5466 (from the public phone, information desk or a mobile phone).
If your flight is missed, delayed, or cancelled, or if there is any other problem, you should notify EC Transfer Representative by calling +1 604.988.7639 or text / WhatsApp +1.778.773.5466 (from the information desk or a mobile phone) to rearrange your transfer time and avoid additional cost.

Journey to school

Student will head south on Cambie St toward W 61^st Ave and enter the Marine Drive Station.
Student will take the Canada Line from Marine Drive Station towards Waterfront for 15 minutes (7 stops) and get off at Vancouver City Center.
Student will exit the Vancouver City Centre Station and head southeast on W Georgia St towards Granville St.
Student will then turn left onto Seymour St and then right onto Dunsmuir St. EC Vancouver is located at 570 Dunsmiur St, Vancouver BC V6B 1Y1, Canada

House Rules

A $431.23 payment is required on arrival ($131.25 amenities fee and $300 for a refundable deposit). The $300 deposit will be refunded 5-15 business days after checkout
18+ as adult students, no EC custodianship

Smoking is not allowed (not even on the balconies or through the windows)
Students arriving in EC accommodation between 22.00 – 08.00 may be asked to book alternative accommodation for their first night. This is to ensure student’s safety on arrival.
While we promote and support diversity, we cannot guarantee language mix. However, we always encourage students to use English to communicate, be respectful and inclusive of others
EC provides a clean living space for all students and expects a basic level of respect from all students. For example, if something is dropped, pick it up; do not leave clothes and belongings on the floor; place rubbish and leftovers in a garbage bag.
Students are required to follow EC Student Code of Conduct, failure to do so can result in termination of the accommodation.

Cancellations

Cancellation prior to arrival

Students cancelling or postponing 14 days or less prior to their accommodation dates will be charged a two-week accommodation fee at the rate quoted in the price list for the accommodation booked and the accommodation placement fee.

Cancellation after arrival

Students leaving their accommodation must give notice in writing 4 weeks prior to termination. If the 4-week notice period is not provided a cancellation fee equal to 4 weeks of the accommodation cost will apply.  After deducting the price of accommodation used at the rate quoted in the price list, including the required notice period charged at the same rate, students will be refunded the remaining accommodation costs.

Arrival procedure

If you did not request an airport pick-up, you have several options. Check-in time is at 16:00 or after. No earlier check-in is allowed. On arrival, please press buzzer code 1111 or please contact the caretaker at +1 778 251 3468.

Can I keep staying at my student accommodation in Vancouver after my EC English course?

The accommodation is only available for the duration of the course. Accommodation is usually booked from Saturday to Saturday.

If I choose a shared-bedroom for my student accommodation in Vancouver, who will I be sharing with?

You will be sharing your room with another EC student of the same gender. When students are sharing rooms, we try our best to place students together from different countries or languages, although this is not always guaranteed.

For my homestay student accommodation in Vancouver, how do you assign the host family?

This is based on availability and any special requirements you might have. Please make sure that all your requests are expressed at the time of the booking.

Which type of student accommodation in Vancouver should I choose?

Choosing a Vancouver accommodation type depends on your lifestyle preferences. If you want to practice your English with a local Canadian family over homecooked meals, you should consider a homestay with local Vancouver hosts. If you want more independence and connection with other students, a shared apartment or student house may be the perfect choice.
